Jellyeye is a troupe of 8 performers, rigorously cross-trained in dance and drumming. These two disciplines combine to create an original form of percussive movement in which careful choreography and densely arranged rhythms are presented with a combination of utter precision and abandon.

Jellyeye's signature work, the thunderous and complex Blood Lotus, is an intricately structured, intensely visceral drum dance, performed on a unique set of custom-built rolling drums.

An evening length Jellyeye performance presents beautiful, jagged landscapes of shifting sounds and movement, ranging from the supercharged and explosive, to the surreal, delicate and lyrical.

While the group's eclectic and somewhat indefinable character has earned them a solid reputation as serious artists in the vanguard of contemporary theatre, the visceral charge of a Jellyeye performance attracts loyal audiences from the widest possible demographic.

"The shimmering of gongs, the rattlesnake hiss of slowly tilting maracas and the echo of chimes that sound like moonlight ... whether sticks and hands are whirling through the air or landing on an instrument, the beauty remains constant."

"Jellyeye's forte is heavily choreographed, intensely physical drum assaults, performed on an awesome set of custom designed, rolling drums."
